PURPOSE:To provide possibility of processing a lap tooth crest without use of any jig by forming a ring-shaped protrusion at the periphery of the counter lap side end-face of a mirror plate in a fixed scroll, and by using the end face of this protrusion as reference surface for processing the lap tooth crest. CONSTITUTION:A ring-shaped protrusion 20 protrusing from the end face 1h is formed at the periphery of the counter lap side end-face 1h of a mirror plate 1a in a fixed scroll. In the attached illustration, Ho and Wo represent the magnitude of protrusion and width, respectively, of said protrusion 20. The end face 20a of this protrusion 20 is formed flat by grinding so as to serve as a reference surface for processing the lap tooth crest. Accordingly the area to be ground decreases greatly, which leads to enhancement of the flatness of reference surface to assure processing of tooth tips with high precision.
