PURPOSE:To improve the strength and the corrosion resistance and measure accurately a very minute quantity of radioactivity in sample water by forming a part, with which sample water is brought into contact, with a synthetic resin reinforced by fibers having no radioactivity. CONSTITUTION:A lining layer 4 consisting of an unsaturated polyester resin reinforced by carbon fibers is formed on inside faces of a vessel 1 and a cover 2. A flow-in tube 5 and a flow-out tube 6 of sample water are formed with an unsaturated polyester resin hardened material reinforced by carbon fibers and are attached to the lining layer 4 of the vessel 1. Conduits 7 and 8 are formed with an unsaturated polyester reinforced by glass fibers and are so constituted that sample water is flowed into the vessel 1 through the conduit 7 and the flow-in tube 5 and is flowed out through the flow-out tube 6 and the conduit 8. Radiation shielding materials 9 and 10 have shells constituted with steel plates, and lead is packed in them. Consequently, since the part with which sample water is brought into contact is constituted with the synthetic resin reinforced by fibers having no radioactivity, the counting rate of the background is reduced considerably. |
