PURPOSE:To securely detect the condition of a road surface and improve the controllability of a suspension by detecting car speed at a certain interval and judging a road surface to be a poor road condition when the value of deviation in the quantity of change in succeeding car speeds is above a certain value. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch 5 is thrown in to obtain an operating condition, the output signal 1a of a rotation sensor (car speed detecting means) is inputted into a microcomputer 4 via a counter 3, after the signal 1a is converted into a rectangular wave by means of a buffer amplifier 2. The counter 3 counts clock pulses which are inputted from a start-up to the following start-up of rectangular waves to generate a period data X proportionate to the period of the output signal 1a. And, the computer 4 calculates the quantity of change in a period data X, while comparing the deviation value of the quantity of change of succeeding car speeds with a defined value, and judges the traveling road surface to be a poor road condition when the deviation value is above the defined value, while judging to be a good road condition when it is below the defined value. |
