PURPOSE:To vary a fuel quantity to be fed to a combustion chamber in succession while aiming at extension in the dynamic range of a fuel injection quantity, by altering the fuel injection quantity with a mode other than valve opening time, in case of a fuel feeder for an engine. CONSTITUTION:Inside a casing of a solenoid-operated fuel injection valve (injector) A, a member (PZT) 8 composed of titanic acid lead zirconate is interposingly installed as a piezoelectric body. On the other hand, the injector A is installed in a suction passage 15 of an engine E and driven by a control signal out of a controller 17. This controller 17 is provided with a first control device, which controls thickness in the PZT8 for increase or decrease according to an operation state of the engine E with a switch, making up a fuel injection modifying device M, opened or closed, and a second control device, which controls the pulse width of the injector A so as to cause a fuel quantity to be fed to an engine combustion chamber to be continuously varied when an injection quantity per pulse in the injector A is discontinuously varied by altering thickness in the PZT8. |
