PURPOSE:To know plate density such as the dot percent of each color when preferable colors are obtained by printing by simulating colors represented by dot percents, etc., as colors of actual printed matter speedily at low cost. CONSTITUTION:Correction coefficients of matrix means 20 and 21 and the conversion expression of a color quantity-density converting means 70 are set. When a color is simulated on the basis of the value of plate density, a printing system is selected with the switch 61 of a system selecting means and knobs 12Y and 12M, etc., for color quantity adjustment are rotated over a look at display devices 83Y, 83M, 83C, and 83K of respective colors until their display values are specified values. Consequently, colors when printing is performed with the set plate density is displayed on the display screen 55 of a color monitor device 50. Consequently, colors expressed by dot percents are simulated as colors of actual printed matter speedily at a little cost. |
