PURPOSE:To manufacture a rotary cylinder identical with an integral cylinder and to reduce the cort for manufacture by disposing plural cylindrical block pieces to a rotary cylindrical form having a prescribed length and forming an electroplating layer on the circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:Sliced cylindrical block pieces of the number required for constituting the overall length of a rotary cylinder 3 are preliminarily and separately and manufactured and are held juxtaposed. The holding may be accomplished by a method for applying restraining force thereto from both end faces or joining the cylindrical block pieces to each other by welding, brazing or other methods or attaching a holding member to the inside surface of the cylinder. Ruggedness may be otherwise provided to the end faces of the cylindrical block pieces and be fitted to each other. The cylindrical block pieces slit in the hight direction of the circular column may be used. The cylindrical body held in a specified disposition state is dipped in a plating bath meeting the metal constituting said cylinder and is subjected to a plating treatment, by which a rotary cylinder 3 for continuous casting of a flat metallic plate is manufactured. |
