Substituted 4,5-dimethoxypyridazones of the formula <IMAGE> where R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another are each hydrogen, halogen, nitro, cyano, carboxyl, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylmercapto, haloalkylmercapto, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl and n is 0, 1 or 2, are used for controlling undesirable plant growth.
