PURPOSE:To prevent light of exposure from leaking even when an original is thick by fitting the 2nd support member rotatably to the free terminal side of the 1st support member, and locking and unlocking the rotation of the 2nd support member according to its angle. CONSTITUTION:A lock member 17 and the 1st support member 8 rotate together until an original press-contacting plate 1 is opened by about 45 deg., and a control pin 18 slidably abuts on the step part 13 of a cam member 10, so the lock member 17 is at a specific position and lock pins 17a and 17a do not engage engagement parts 23c and 23c of the 2nd support member 23. Therefore, when the original 25 is thick like a book as shown in a figure, the 2nd support member 23 rotates clockwise around a hinge pin 24 as a fulcrum and the original press- contacting plate 1 is lifted to become parallel to the original 25, thereby preventing the light of exposure from damaging the eyes of an operator and stray light from entering the optical system in the copying machine frame as much as possible. |
