<p>(A) Imidazo-pyridones of formula (I) and their acid addition salts are new (R is H or 1-3C alkyl; R1 is pyridyl; Y is H or Cl). (B) 2-(4-Pyridylamino)-3-aminopyridine (IIa), 2-(2-pyridylamino)-3-aminopyridine (IIb) and 2-(2-pyridylamino)-3-nitropyridine (IXa) are new. (I; R = 1-3C alkyl) are gastric secretion inhibitors, antiulcer agents and anorectics. In particular, they decrease both the volume and acidity of gastric secretions. Daily dose for adults is 0.05-2g. p.o. LD50 is 500- >1000 mg/kg. mouse p.o. (I; R = H), (IIa), (IIb) and (IXa) are intermediates for (I; R = 1-3C alkyl).</p> |
