PURPOSE:To switch the phase every 1H drastically and to facilitate to make the circuit into the IC by shifting the phase by digital-processing the phase of a color subcarrier, and by executing the phase shifting processing directly for a regeneration chrominance signal at the time of reproducing. CONSTITUTION:The color video signal from a color video signal input terminal 1 is added to an A/D converter 18, and converted to a digital signal after sampling four-time frequency of color sub-carry-in frequency as the sampled frequency. This signal is processed by a luminance signal processing circuit 19, a digital luminance signal is separated, and the digital signal which is equivalent to the luminance signal is outputted. The digital chrominance signal which is separated by a BPF20 is processed by a phase shifting processing circuit 21 and a frequency converter 22, and recorded in a magnetic tape 16 by synthesizing it with the luminance signal by a mixing circuit 24. A luminance signal processing circuit 29, an LPF30, a frequency converter 31, a phase shifting processing circuit 33, a mixing circuit 35, etc., are provided in the circuit which regenerates the signal from the tape 16, the direct phase shifting processing is executed at the time of reproducing, and making the circuit into the IC is obtained.
