VEHICLES TRAVELLING ON AIR CUSHIONS

A vehicle travelling on air cushions, comprising a lifted structure, a central lift cushion and a peripheral lift arrangement comprising a plurality of cells defined externally by an outer multilobular skirt. Each lobe of the outer skirt is constituted by the assmebly of an upper part which diverges in the downwards direction with respect to the structure and by a lower part which converges in the downwards direction with respect to the structure, so that the arrangement of the lobe projects outside the structure. The upper part is formed by first and second adjacent members of revolution in which the second member is above the first member which is mounted on the lower part. The axes of revolution of the first and second members of revolution are both in the same vertical plane as that containing the axis of revolution of the lower part. With respect to the vertical, the axis of revolution of the aforesaid second member is greater than that of the said first member.
