PURPOSE:To record respective digital signals after converting them to the low band, to set a low-band conversion circuit as a digital circuit, and to make the device into an IC by separating and extracting the digital signals of two kinds chrominance signals from the digital chrominance signal which is obtained by sampling a carry-in chrominance signal. CONSTITUTION:An analog image signal from a color video input terminal 6 of a recording system is added to an A/D converter 7, and is converted to a digital signal after sampling four-time frequency of color subcarrier frequency as the sampled frequency. The signal is processed by a luminance signal processing circuit 8, and the digital signal, which is equivalent to a frequency modulated luminance signal, is outputted. Digital chrominance signals which are separated by a BPF9 are supplied to respective color difference signal forming circuits 10 and 11, and two kinds color difference sinals M and N are outputted. These signals M and N are added to digital multipliers 12 and 13 controlled by cos omegat and sin omegat whose phases from a low-band signal generator 14 are different, and the outputs of the multipliers 12 and 13 are added by an adder 15. The outputs of the circuits 8 and 15 are synthesized by a mixing circuit 16, D/A-converted 17, and recorded in a magnetic tape 20.
