PURPOSE:To provide a screw press which performs efficiently solid-liquid sepn. by positioning a liquid squeezing screw so as to face the inside of a cylinder contg. a compressing screw through the opening on the bottom wall surface of said cylinder so that liquid squeezing is independently accomplished. CONSTITUTION:An opening 4 is formed to the bottom wall surface of a cylinder 1 contg. a compressing screw 3 provided with feed vanes 2 having the gradually decreasing pitches to decrease gradually the volume of the transfer space and a liquid squeezing screw 5 is positioned so as to face said opening and the vanes 2 are thrust and fitted into the hollow grooves 6 of the screw 5, thereby constituting a screw press. Both screws 3, 5 of such screw press are synchronously rotated in opposite directions to compress the raw material supplied through the raw material feed port 13 of the cylinder 1 while transferring said material thereby performing solid-liquid sepn. Cake is taken out of a cake outlet 14 and the liquid is taken out of a squeezed liquid hole 7 provided on the circumferential surface of the screw 5 through the hollow part of said screw. The hole 7 is washed by washing nozzles 12 during operation, by which clogging is easily prevented. |
