PURPOSE:To execute an efficient conversion by dividing an input KANA string of abbreviated words into a front part and rear part, by retrieving headword including each parts in a dictionary memory and by reading corresponding KANJIs from corresponding converted words so as to obtain converted words. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 is controlled by a program stored in an RAM3. An RAM4 holding various kinds of data consists of a sentence buffer 41 storing ecitted sentence data, a KANA buffer 42 storing KANA strings inputted from a keyboard device 2 and another area 43. A dictionary memory controller 5 controlling a dictionary memory 6 consists of a result buffer 51 storing candidate data and an address circuit part 52. When an inputted KANA string does not exist in headwords of the dictionary memory 6, character strings of the KANA buffer 42 are divided into a front part and rear part, corresponding headwords are searched, and an official name including abbreviation is detected. Among converted words corresponding to the detected headwords, a corresponding single KANJI is extracted, and displayed on a CRT8. |
