PURPOSE:To prevent soot and adhesive substances from sticking to the periphery of a carbureter in a fuel injection type engine by providing a heater in, especially, an orifice part of a bypass passage which bypasses a throttle valve so as to burn soot and so on. CONSTITUTION:A nichrome wire 8 is embedded in the surface of an orifice 7 to burn soot and so on stuck to the surface thereof by heating the nichrome wire 8. Similarly, another nichrome wire 8 is embedded in the end part of an adjustment screw 6 so as to burn soot and so on. The burning timing may be either in the idling or driving, however it is preferable that the burning is performed when a car runs at a high speed since power consumption for the burning at the idling time will overload an engine so that the probability of engine stall may be increased. When the heating elements 8 are supplied with power at the time of high speed drive, the engine is subjected to less load. Besides, at the time of high speed run, the amount of air which passes through the vicinity of a throttle valve is great while the amount of air which is supplied via a passage 4 is small, on account of which the rate of cooling the heating elements 8 by passing air may be reduced for higher burning effect. |
