The assembly attaches the daisy wheel to a spindle driven by a motor carried by the printer's carriage. The carriage moves across the paper. The spindle has a driving head at its free end. The daisy wheel has a coupling member designed to connect non-rotationally to the driving head by moving the daisy wheel radially. A locking device moves between a release position in which the daisy wheel can move radially w.r.t. the driving head and a working position in which the daisy wheel is locked to the driving head. The driving head is an equilateral triangle. The coupling member includes two V-shaped ridges on one side of the daisy wheel and engaging the driving head.
