PURPOSE:To protect a tape at the notched part from person's hands or the dust by composing the titled cassette to have at least 2 transparent light holes at the internal wall part and the circumference wall part of the cassette, and to block the transparent light hole at the circumference part with a front cover and the transparent light hole at the internal wall part with an internal cover when the front cover and the internal cover are closed. CONSTITUTION:At circumference walls 10 and 12 of a tape cassette 6, transparent light holes 1a and 1b are excavated and placed to form the light sending channel from a light source 3 to a light receiving part 4b of the tape end detection means. When a front cover 14 is opened, transparent light holes 1a and 1b are exposed, and when the cover is closed, the holes are blocked at the side surface part of the cover 14. Transparent light holes 2a and 2b, which are excavated at an internal wall 34, are interlocked with the cover 14 and is constructed to be blocked with a side plate 35 of an internal cover 26 which is opened and closed when the wall 26 is closed. Consequently, when the cassette is not used, a tape 7 is surrounded with the cover 14 and the cover 26. Further, since transparent light holes 1a, 1b, 2a and 2b for tape end detection are easily and securely blocked, neither the person's hands touch the tape nor the dust, etc. stucks.
