PURPOSE:To control the crystal orientation of a plastic material and to change the property thereof by applying repeatedly simple shearing deformation in forward and backward directions to the plastic material. CONSTITUTION:A plate-shaped metallic material 1 as a plastic material is held still by gripping rectangular parts C on both sides of the plate 1 by the fixing part 21 of a device which is fixed by bolts 3 and applies simple shearing deformation to said plate. The central part (b) of the plate 1 is gripped by a movable part 22 and is moved verticaly back and forth with respect to the part 21. The free part (a) of the plate 1 which is not held and gripped by the device 2 is subjected repeatedly to the simple shearing deformation in the perpendicular vertical direction by repeating the above-mentioned forward and backward movement, by which the crystal particles in said part are rotated until finally the crystal orientations are unified in the specified direction and the material exhibiting the exactly the same property as the property of a single crystal is obtd.
