PURPOSE:To monitor the condition of each furnace in a process for producing crude copper at all times and taking remedy in prompt response with abnormality so that the life of each furnace is balanced by displaying the respective conditions of the furnaces with the temp. in a smelting furnace, slag cleaning furnace and crude copper producing furnace in the process for producing blister copper from the concentrate of copper on a display part. CONSTITUTION:Copper concentrate, flux, fuel and air are blown through a lance 4 into a smelting furnace 1 and the slag A from a blister copper producing furnace 3 is added thereto and is melted to form the matte and slag of copper. The matte and slag are fed into a slag cleaning furnace 2 where the matte and slag are heated by an electrode 5 and are separated by a difference in specific gravity. The matte is fed to the furnace 3 where air and flux are blown through a lance 6 to oxidize away the Fe and S in the matte and the blister copper is produced. Many thermometers and thermal expansion meters are attached to the respective furnaces and the conditions of the three furnace bodies are detected from the measured value thereof. The life of the three furnace bodies is balanced to meet the short and long lives from the association among said conditions, by which the working efficiency over the entire production process is improved.
