PURPOSE:To restrict blowing through of fuel and improve property of ignition by supplying a small quantity of fuel from one fuel injection device to an intake valve port in a position opposite to an exhaust valve port and supplying a large quantity of fuel to an intake valve port in a position opposite to the source of ignition. CONSTITUTION:Air sucked into a combustion chamber 6 is evenly distributed in intake passages 211 and 212, however, since a fuel injection nozzle 24 is provided eccentrically on the intake passage 211 side, more fuel is injected into the passage 211 than the same injected into the passage 212 and the mixture sucked in from an intake valve port 81 becomes rich, while the same sucked in from the intake valve port 82 becomes lean. Then, the rich mixture flows toward the source 9 of ignition to bring about the atmosphere of the rich mixture around a discharge electrode 11 and ignition is eased. Further, since an exhaust valve port 10 is provided in a position opposite to the valve port 82 and the mixture sucked from said port 82 becomes lean, even if the mixture blows through the valve port 10 at the time of overlapping, the quantity of fuel contained in it is small. The electrode 11 is positioned in the center of the combustion chamber 6, and this enables rapid combustion. |
