PURPOSE:To improve the control reliability of a control system wherein temperature sensor is used by comparing a temperature detected by the temperature sensor, with an engine temperature calculated on the basis of an air fuel ratio feedback period and compensating a sensor output according to the compared result. CONSTITUTION:When air fuel mixture ratio is changed from lean mixture to rich mixture. The temperature of an engine is calculated from a feedback period and the compensated value of the output of a temperature sensor 9 is also calculated according to the said engine temperature. The feedback compensating coefficient of the quantity of fuel injected is thereafter compensated. Namely, the output inversion time (t2) of an O2 sensor is read from a timer 1 as well as the time (t1) at which the precedent output of the O2 sensor is inverted from a lean-mixture ratio to a rich-mixture ratio. From both the times (t1) and (t2), the feedback period TF/Bis computed to update (t1) to (t2). At the next step, from a memory, a reference feedback period TF/Bref corresponding to the water temperature TW' is read and compared with an actual feedback period. In case of TF/Bref, the water temperature compensation value Twofs is corrected by DELTATwofs to a lower value and in the contrary case, the water temperature compensation value is corrected to a higher value. |
