PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of CO in exhaust gas which is produced after a gear is shifted by interrupting the air-fuel ratio control function when a preset delay time was passed after a throttle valve fully open signal and a signal of engine rpm over a specified value are inputted. CONSTITUTION:A voltage signal indicating the oxygen concentration from an O2 sensor which is provided in an exhaust pipe is fed into a reference voltage comparing circuit, and compared with a reference voltage therein. The signal of the result is sent into an input circuit. A signal of an idle switch indicating the opening and closing motion of a throttle valve is also sent into the input circuit together with a signal which detects an engine rpm and compares it with a specified rpm. Normally, a signal which enters a computer from the input circuit is operated for data processing according to the signal only from the O2 sensor to open and close a solenoid valve 5 via a driving circuit. The quantity of fuel discharged into a carbureter may be adjusted, providing an appropriate air-fuel ratio. In case of gear shifting operation concluded within a short term, the concentration of CO may be reduced by the effect of the delay time. |
