PURPOSE:To improve the anticorrosive properties of a paint film, especially the tendency to form rust due to swelling and linear rust by adding Zn-base metallic powder to water paint for electrodeposition when coating with the paint is carried out by electrodeposition. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of Zn-base metallic powders are added to water paint for electrodeposition by 10-400wt% of the amount of the film forming components in the paint so that the amount of the film forming components including the powders is adjusted to 5-50wt%. An electrically conductive article to be coated is immersed in a bath of the paint contg. Zn powder, and DC voltage is impressed between an electrode and the article to carry out coating by electrodeposition. By this method, a paint film having high corrosion resistance which can not be provided by a conventional method can be formed.
