PURPOSE:To improve both reliability and maintenance performance of a computer system by having a message automatically for collection of desired data when an arithmetic overflow is produced and continuing and discontinuing the operation in response to the importance of a program even in an overflow generation mode. CONSTITUTION:When an arithmetic overflow OVF is produced, the generation addresses of various registers of that time point are shunted to a specific area respectively and also jumped to a specific address of an operation system. Then control is carried out to continue and discontinue the procedure according to the importance of a program. Furthermore, the application program numbers, the OVF generation addresses, the types of arithmetic instructions, and the data and results are delivered to a display etc., in the form of message. |
