<p>PURPOSE:To enable different languages to be printed in a mixed form, by a method wherein the first mode and the second mode are selected by a mode- selecting means, and code signals are printed forward or reversely in the key- inputted order. CONSTITUTION:When the first mode is selected by the mode-selecting means (b), a first mode controlling means (e) moves a carriage (i) by a one-character amount in the printing direction after printing one character in response to data inputted through keys. When the second mode is selected, a second mode controlling means (f) sequentially stores code signals corresponding to inputted data into a memory (a), and moves only the carriage (i) by one-character amount at a time in the printing direction. When the second mode is switched to the first mode by a mode-switching means (g), the code signals are sequentially printed in the reverse direction in the order in which the signals have been stored into the memory (a), starting from a position spaced backward by one-character amount from the current carriage position. Accordingly, a language in which characters are written leftward and a language in which characters are written rightward can be printed in a mixed form by a single typewriter.</p> |
