PURPOSE:To enable to interrupt a large current stably in a short time with good reproducibility by performing the operation of interrupting the large current of a load to a switch by the first thyristor and performing the operation of preventing chattering by the second thyristor. CONSTITUTION:If a voltage of negative half wave is applied, a charging/discharging capacitor 12 is charged by half-wave current through diodes 13, 11, a thyristor 15 is turned ON by the ON of a switch 2, and when a thyristor 8 becomes ON with positive half wave. Then, the thyristor 8 becomes ON at any positon when the switch 2 is closed. Thus, this circuit is switched at zero voltage only in the half wave, and is closed at any position of 90 deg. of the remaining half wave.
