PURPOSE:To enable the setting of the culture time to various lengths, and to carry out the determination of the antibacterial activity to various bacterial strains corresponding to the culture time, in high operation efficiency, by placing a number of small test tubes on a holding table, inserting the tubes together with the holding table into an incubator, and shaking the tubes. CONSTITUTION:A number of small test tubes V are inserted vertically into the holes of a number of holding tables H, and a liquid medium containing an antibacterial agent with various concentrations is pipetted to the test tubes V on esch table H. Each test tube is inoculated with same and known number of microbial cells. The kind of the bacterial strain is changed from tube to tube on the same holding table. The test tubes are put together with the holding table into an incubator, and cultured. Each time the preset period has elapsed, the holding table is shaken together with the test tubes, and a small portion of specimen is collected from each test tube and transplanted to a plate medium. After the cultivation for a definite period, the number of the colonies is counted.
