<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a small-size, low-cost thermal head by providing drivers at intervals of two dots and one dot to the anode and cathode sides of a resistor. CONSTITUTION:A head voltage terminal VTH is connected to Dr1', Dr2',..., Dr1' is to r1, Dr2' is to r2 and r3, Dr3' is to r4, r5,..., Dr1 is connected to r1 and r2, and Dr2 is to r3, r4,.... When Dr2', Dr4',... are driven, r2, r3, r6, r7, ...become print able, and any resistor is heated by driving Dr1-Drn. When Dr1', Dr3', Dr5',... are driven, r1, r4, r5... become printable, and any resistor is heated by driving Dr1-Drn. By providing dot voltage selective application drivers at intervals of one dot, the needs for great capacity of selective application drivers are eliminated. By integrating these drivers, all function can be mounted on one substrate of thermal head, and the miniaturization of the head can be attained.</p> |
