DATA READING METHOD

PURPOSE:To read out data with high efficiency and to avoid the increase of processing time by providing a directory information processor between a main memory and an external memory. CONSTITUTION:The file information given via an input/output device and to be read out is sent to a file informaton processing circuit 8 from a main memory. The circuit 8 stores the discrimination information and sends an intruction to an external memory control circuit 9 to read out a directory file storing the position information within an external memory of the corresponding file. The discrimination information set to a directory information processing circuit 7 from the external memory via a selection circuit 10 is compared with the identification information with the circuit 8 to detect the coincidence. Thus the position information is obtained within the external memory of said file. Then the data on a specific file is read out and transferred to the main memory.
