PURPOSE:To improve the braking performance, to enable to provide maintenance free, to reduce a noise and to reduce public pollution of a brake device by switching from a circuit for supplying to a main motor from a main generator to a current for supplying to exciting polse of eddy current brake means at the brake force generating time. CONSTITUTION:Since a contactor P is shortcircuited and a contactor B is opened at power drive time, the output of a main generator 11 is supplied to armature circuits M1, M2 of a main motor 1. On the other hand, since the contactor P is opened and the contactor B is shortcircuited at the braking time, the output voltage of the generator 11 suitably controlled is applied to the exciting coil 6 of an eddy current brake device 5 to generate a brake force at the brake disc. In addition, the armature circuits M1, M2 of the motor 1 form a DC series generator to generate a brake current, but this current is consumed in a brake resistor 2, with a result that the generating braking force is generated in the motor 1. |
