PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium for a magnetic tape, disc, etc. which is particularly excellent in wear resistance even under high humidity condition by providing a film consisting of a mixture composed of a lubricating agent of a specific polydimethyl siloxane deriv. and metallic ion sealing agent on a thin ferromagnetic metallic film. CONSTITUTION:The coating liquid contg. the lubricating agent expressed by the formula (1<=m<=30, 1<=a+b<=60, R is 1-7C alkyl or H) and a metal sealing agent such as p-chloraniline, acetyl acetone, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (salt), etc. at <=20wt% the metal sealing material by the weight of the lubricating agent is prepd. Such coating liquid is coated directly on a thin ferromagnetic metallic film formed on the surface of a base body consisting of a nonmagnetic high polymer material or non-magnetic metallic material or via a thin film consisting of non-magnetic metallic rhodium or the like and is dried, by which the magnetic recording medium formed with the lubricating film is obtd. The magnetic recording medium having a long still life and has excellent wear resistance and good durability even at and under high temp. and high humidity is thus obtd. |
