The pivot arms comprise circular segments and are pivoted with one end on the headrest. The other ends are pivoted at the ends of the ratchet and on a support arm secured to the headrest mounting frame. A control knob and a gear wheel drives the ratchet. The ratchet moves along a curved path to compensate for the swing action of the pivot levers. The translational movement of the headrest retains the rake setting.
