PURPOSE:To make an invariably proper scan and obtain a stable playback output envelope by performing dynamic tracking control on the basis of playback output signals of a couple of dedicated reproducing magnetic heads which are set at the azimuth angle of one of a couple of recording and reproducing magnetic heads. CONSTITUTION:Dedicated reproducing magnetic heads 23 and 25 with the same azimuth that one of recording and reproducing magnetic heads 22 and 24 has are arranged between the heads 22 and 24. Then, the heads 22 and 24 are mounted on a rotary drum through head actuators 26 and 27 respectively. Then, a tracking error signal is detected on the basis of envelope variations of the playback output signals of the heads 23 and 25 and the head actuators 26 and 27 are driven on the basis of them to perform the dynamic tracking control. Thus, stable playback output evnelopes are obtained to perform the accurate dynamic tracking control over a wide dynamic range. |
