发明名称 GAS DIFFUSION ELECTRODE OF FUEL CELL
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce specific resistance of an electrode and give high water repellent ability and gas diffusion performance by forming water repellent layer in the inside of electrode substrate by impregnating fluorine resin in the edge of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:Fluorine resin dispersion having a melting point of 320-330 deg.C such as tetrafluoroethylene resin is spreaded on an electrode substrate 1 by screen printing or spray method and dried to remove solvent. Fluorine resin spreaded on the substrate is impregnated on the end surface with a press at a temperature of melting point of the resin. By this process, fluorine resin 3 is impregnated in the E region of the substrate 1 comprising, for example, carbon fiber 1. Since a layer having high water repellent ability exists as part of substrate, one of layers constituting the electrode can be reduced and resistance is reduced. Since impregnated part of fluorine resin is as thin as 10-50mum from the surface, gas diffusion property is not reduced, yet high water repellent ability is maintained.
