PURPOSE:To prevent measuring errors and to expedite response speed, by averaging the fluctuation of oxygen concentration in a gas to be measured in a short time in a gas reservoir. CONSTITUTION:A gas to be measured flows into a gas reservoir 8 through a small hole 6. A solid-electrolyte type oxygen concentration detector 13 is provided in the gas reservoir 8. The detector 13 has a solid electrolyte element 10, e.g., a zirconia elelement, on both surfaces of which a measuring electrode 11 and a comparing electrode 12 are provided. The gas to be measured, which has flowed into the gas reservoir 8, is contacted with the measuring electrode 11. A comparing gas feeding mechanism 25 picks up the gas to be measured in the gas reservoir 8 through a gas pickup pipe 14. Steam is removed from the gas to be measured, and the dry gas is made to be the comparing gas, which is in turn supplied to the comparing electrode 12 of the oxygen concentration detector 13. The end part of the gas pickup pipe 14 in the gas reservoir 8 is arranged in the vicinity of the measuring electrode of the oxygen concentration detector 13. |
