PURPOSE:To decrease the coefficient of fuel consumption and to reduce contamination of the air, by a method wherein an air suction passage is communicated with a scavenging passage through a check valve, and a mixture suction passage is communicated with a crank chmaber. CONSTITUTION:With a piston 20 raised, scavenging holes 15a and 16a are closed and the interior of a cylinder is compressed, a crank chamber 14, simultaneously, is reduced in a pressure, and with check valves 31 and 41 opened, fuel-air mixture flows in a crank chamber 14, and air flows in scavenging passage 15, 15, and 16. Thereafter, a pistong 20 is lowered through expansion, exhaust gas is exhausted through an exhaust hole 18. When, with the piston further lowered, the scavenging holes 15a, 15a, and 16a are opened, the previously compressed air is first blown in a combustion chamber 17, and residual air is pushed out thereby. Consecutively, fuel-air mixture is blown in a cylinder. |
