PURPOSE:To make it possible to fix and seal a conductor, at the same time, at the end of a luminescent tube enclosure in a shortened heating time by arranging an assembly, which has a luminescent tube enclosure, a frit ring, and a conductor, in each of plural holes of a heating element which is of a specific shape and by conduction heating this heating element from outside. CONSTITUTION:In a heating element 1, plural circular holes 2, whose diameters are the same in dimension, are formed to be at the same distance from the center O of the heating element 1 with the same space A in the circumferential direction, and furthermore another circular hole 3 is formed in the center of the heating element 1. The external shape of the heating element 1 is formed by connecting one after another the sections of those concentric circles formed outside of each circular hole 2. And each of the circular holes 2 contains an assembly which has a luminescent tube enclosure 4 made up of monocrystal alumina, a frit ring 5, and a tube-like conductor 6. Placing such a device in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere, its temperature is raised by induction-heating the heating element 1, and then the frit ring 5 is melted and the conductor 6 is fixed and sealed at the end of the luminescent tube enclosure 4. |
