Paint roller having a simplified mounting. The invention relates to all rollers rotating freely on the spindle of a mounting rigidly attached to a handle, having a bearing at each end. The roller is locked on its spindle 1 by a groove 4 of trapezoidal profile having two different slopes, in which groove a gripper 5 of the same profile is engaged with clearance. It is a constituent part of or is rigidly attached to the front, closed, bearing. It is elastic by means of its material and four slots, one 6 represented by the dotted lines. The roller is sealed at its rear bearing 7 provided with an external tapered part and with an internal annular bead 9. The end of the spindle 1 is in the form of a little ogive. The application sleeve 2 is adhesively bonded to the brace (spacer) 3, the whole being assembled by the two bearings 5 and 7. They have a flat external shape at the centre, being continued by a very marked circular concavity 10. The handle has an oval part perpendicular to the roller. <IMAGE>
