The invention relates to a process for eliminating ammonia from biochemically prepurified waste water, such as is produced, for example, in plants for thermal processing of coal. The aim of the invention is a process for the substantial elimination of ammonia from waste water (up to residual concentrations < 100 mg/l), without lime or other chemicals having to be added and the solids present having to be eliminated. The essence of the invention is that the treatment of the solid-laden waste water is carried out in the sequence - biochemical pretreatment - thermal expulsion of ammonia - biological secondary purification, where the solids loading is to be up to 5 g/l of waste water and the residual ammonia concentration is to be < 100 mg/l. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the outlets of the biochemical pretreatment, without separation of biomass, are transferred into a stripping column and are deammoniated by thermal treatment, specially designed packings being used, which prevent a deposition of solids because of their geometrical form and surface property. Areas of application are all those where the object exists of eliminating thermally expellable ammonia from solids-laden biochemically pretreated waters.
|
