Cover comprises a central portion raised above lateral support portions to either side, of which the undersides are self-adhesive for securing to the skin either side of the wound. - The cover pref. consists of polyethylene, polystyrene or the like to provide adequate stiffness combined with sufficient resilience of the side portions to accommodate to the body contour. - Resilience of the portions may be increased by score lines and/or outwardly reducing thickness of these portions. The cover may be placed over a bandaged wound or may contain a bandage, or the sides may be inserted in slots provided in special bandaging plaster.
