The invention relates to a tennis racket, formed by a hollow profile which supports the strings. The object of the invention is to produce the hollow profile from plastic material and to construct it in such a way that the racket can be produced by advanced plastics technologies and an inexpensive and simple quality racket is obtained which is resistant to torsion even under the strongest loading, has a very low weight, and in which welding is possible even with high proportions of carbon fibres. The object according to the invention is achieved in that the profile frame is formed by two parts, of which one part forms a profile, e.g. the profile frame constructed as a U-shaped profile, said profile being open inwards in the plane of the strings, and the other part, closing the open side, is completely or partially connected to the profile frame as a covering. It is important that the profile frame has reinforcing ribs. If these reinforcing ribs are directed radially inwards, they form chambers, as is similarly the case in a bamboo pipe.
