Pulse transformer for electrical detonators

In order to reduce the influence which a pulse transformer for detonating an explosive charge or propulsion charge in an electrical switching apparatus experiences as a result of the current in the main current path of the switching apparatus, the magnetic core of the pulse transformer is arranged such that it lies in a plane with the main current path of the switching apparatus. The pulse transformer can be produced in a particularly easy and small manner if a rectangular cut strip-wound core or interleaved core is used as the magnetic core, in which only one limb is wound. In order to avoid saturation, the magnetic core can be provided with a small air gap.
