PURPOSE:To remove a toner and foreign matters to attain a stable picture quality for a long time by constituting a cleaning roll with an inside layer consisting of a low-hardness elastic material and an outside layer consisting of an insulating high-hardness elastic material and pressing and rubbing this roll to the surface of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning roll 8 of a cleaning device 6 is constituted with an inside layer 8b consisting of a low-hardness elastic material and an outside layer 8a consisting of a high-hardness elastic material and rubs the surface of a photosensitive body 1 in a relative speed to the photosensitive body to remove the remaining toner and foreign matters. The outside layer 8 are formed with insulating materials, and static electric charge is generated on the surface of the roll by friction between the outside layer 8a and a scraper 10 to acquire paper powder, corona products, etc. A roll driving torque is reduced becasue inside and outside double layers are provided, and picture blur is not generated, and the toner and foreign matters are removed sufficiently to prevent them from sticking to the surface of the photosensitive body, and a stable picture quality is obtained for a long time. |
