For the representation of images in black and white or colour, image tube systems are known which are provided with electron beam generators and in which it is achieved by controlled deflection of electron beams that the latter impinge through perforated or slotted masks onto so-called phosphor triples arranged in rows and columns next to and above one another respectively and thereby produce the desired image. These image tube systems necessitate a large number of auxiliary devices which, for their part, require further electronic control and regulating devices. They are therefore not only technically complicated, but also expensive to operate. The invention disposes of these disadvantages by using, for the purpose of relaying and providing the electromagnetic signals, signal-conducting fibres which are combined, as the case may be, to form bundles, are situated with one end at the position provided for providing the signals, and are arranged with their other end at a distance from a rotatable mirror situated in the region of a radiation source and driven by a motor.
