For a main cutting, a high-current, short-pulse discharge circuit (which includes power source Vh, resistor Rh, transistor Qh, capacitor Ch and diode Dh) causes high-current, short-pulse discharges between a wire WR and a workpiece WK. For second cutting, a low-current, pulse discharge circuit (which includes power source Vl, resistor Rl, transistor Ql, capacitor Cl and diode Dl) causes low-current, pulse discharges between the wire WR and the workpiece WK. Control circuitry including gates Gh and Gl, oscillator OSC and numerical controller NC controls the two discharge circuits so that predetermined sections of the workpiece are each subjected to a main cutting then at least one second cutting section by section, so that the sections are machined one after another.
<??>The control circuitry controls the feed speed of the wire WR relative to the workpiece WK so that feed speed for a second cutting is greater then feed speed for a main cutting. |
