发明名称 PRODUCTION OF ION-SELECTIVE GLASS
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a high-purity glass having excellent ion selectivity and suitable as a sensor, etc. at a low cost, by using a plurality of raw materials for the forming of glass having selective sensitivity to ions, and producing the glass by the vapor-phase growth process. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of raw materials (e.g. SiCl4, AlCl3 and Na) for forming a glass having selective sensitivity to ions, are bubbled with respective bubblers 25, 26 and 27, atomized or vaporized with a carrier gas such as argon, and introduced into the quartz glass tube 29 together with oxygen. The quartz glass tube 29 is scanned longitudinally with the electrical furnace 30 to effect the reaction of the raw materials introduced into the quartz glass tube 29. The reaction product of SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, etc. are grown from the vapor phase to the inner wall of the quartz glass tube by this process. The quartz glass tube 29 is then collapsed and solidified by melting with heat to obtain the preform of an ion-selective glass.
