Permanently dusting-free pigment and dyestuff preparations which as dusting prevention agents contain a) a surface-active substance in an amount from 0.5 to 10%, and b) water or mineral oil in an amount (depending on the fineness, the morphology and the later intended application of the pigment and dyestuff preparations) from 2 to 25% and the remainder consists of the pigment or dyestuff, and the process for their production by addition of surface-active agents and liquids, in which a suitable surface-active substance in an amount from 0.5 to 10%, relative to the total weight of the final product, is added to the moist filter suspension of the pigment or of the dyestuff and, after homogeneous dispersion of the combination of pigment or dyestuff and surface-active substance, if appropriate after isolation as a press cake, at least a part of the water is removed by drying and the dried product is then mixed with water or a mineral oil of boiling range 70 to 360 DEG in an amount such that 2 to 25% of water or mineral oil is present in the final product, using an intensive shear stress, until the smear point is reached and then the mixture is, if appropriate, regranulated in a manner known per se.
