PURPOSE:To perform cutting and welding with one kind of head by providing a shielding cover on the outside of a working nozzle part, providing a port for supplying an auxiliary gas for cutting in the nozzle part and providing a port for supplying an inert gas for welding to the shielding cover. CONSTITUTION:Gaseous oxygen is supplied through a supply port 9 into a working nozzle 8 and is ejected from the nozzle port A and gas discharge port 10 at the top end of the nozzle part in the case of performing cutting. After the gas in the nozzle part 8 is thoroughly substd. with the gaseous oxygen, a solenoid valve is closed and a laser beam is irradiated to a work to cut the work. Gaseous argon is supplied through ports 9, 12 for supplying gas to the inside of the part 8 and a shielding cover 11 and is ejected from the nozzle port A, the port 10 and the blow port B in the spacing between the part 8 and the cover 11 in the case of performing welding. The gas in the part 8 and the cover 11 is thoroughly substd. with the gaseous argon and thereafter the solenoid valve is closed and the laser is irradiated together with the gaseous argon to the work by which the work is welded. |
