A guide pulley device for the guidance of the traction cable 21 of a monorail suspended railway, comprises a pulley-box carrier 13 supported from the track rail 14, a pair of rocking arms 10, 11 each having fork-like parallel parts and pivoted to the carrier 13 by a spindle 12, pulleys 15, 16 being rotatably mounted on the arm 10 and pulleys 17, 18 being rotatably mounted on the arm 11, the edges of the pulley wheel grooves abutting to define an aperture 20 through which the cable 21 passes and the arms 10, 11 being displaceable relative to each other against the action of springs 19 so as to allow passage between the pulleys of a trolley traction arm secured to the cable. Movement of the arms 10, 11 within the carrier 13 is damped by springs, rubber or the like. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 986,467. |
