Modern single-sheet feed devices have at least two supply containers (6, 7), in each of which a supply pile (3, 4) of individual sheets (2) of different size is arranged. In this case, separating rollers (8, 9) which engage frictionally on the supply piles (3, 4) can be coupled selectively via couplings (10, 11) to a gear mechanism which can be driven by the platen (12). The invention is based on the object of simplifying the drawing-off of the individual sheets (2) from the supply piles (3, 4). According to the invention, this is achieved in that a control member (45) can be driven by a cam (51) and has a trip latch (44) mounted pivotably thereon, which trip latch can be moved with its trip projection (43) selectively in front of one of the carrier edges (60, 73) of the two pawls (29, 37) for the couplings (10, 11) to release them. As a result, reliable selection of the single sheet is possible at any time by simple means. <IMAGE>
